Honduras has not made any changes to its regulatory framework for genetically engineered (GE) crops. As of October 2025, the planted area of GE corn remains steady at 67,000 hectares, the same as in 2024.

On January 20, 2022, the Constitutional Court of Ecuador declared the unconstitutionality of article 56 of the Law on Seeds, Agrobiodiversity and Sustainable Agriculture, potentially allowing the President of the Republic to authorize the introduction of GE seeds for other purposes than research.

Private exporters reported the following sales activity for MY 2025/2026: 135,660 MT of corn for delivery to Mexico and 110,668 MT of corn for delivery to unknown destinations.

Private exporters reported the sale of 101,400 metric tons of soybean cake and meal for delivery to Guatemala during the 2025/2026 marketing year.

Private exporters reported sales of 122,947 MT of corn for delivery to Mexico - 100,593 MT is for delivery during MY 2025/2026 and 22,354 MT is for delivery during MY 2026/2027.
