Data and Analysis
With economic growth bolstering household expenditures, retail revenues continue to climb with an increase of 9 percent in 2024. Despite steep competition with Brazil’s own robust food processing industry, U.S. consumer-oriented exports to Brazil increased by 12 percent last year, driven by growth in distilled spirits and nuts.
Brazil’s soybean sector continues to demonstrate strong momentum, with MY 2024/25 production reaching a new record driven by higher yields—particularly in São Paulo, Goiás, and the MATOPIBA region—supported by favorable weather and improved cultivation practices.
In 2025, Brazil experienced milder temperatures and fewer fires compared to 2024, and losses in agricultural productivity were largely limited to fields harvested in the first third of the 2025/26 marketing year (MY).
