China: Trade Alert - China Extends Section 301 Tariff Exclusions for US Agricultural Products
Industry sources report that the Ministry of Finance has extended the planned suspension of the market-based Section 301 tariff exclusion process, which applies to certain U.S. products including agricultural goods, to December 31, 2026.
China's dairy market is currently saturated with excess fluid milk, driving farmgate prices down since mid-2022. While overall milk output is forecast to slightly decline in 2025 as smaller farms exit the market, large processors are investing in cheese, butter, and functional powders to capture higher-value segments.
China’s domestic production of tree nuts, notably walnuts, macadamia nuts, and hazelnuts, is growing as consumer awareness regarding the nutritional and healthy attributes of tree nuts is driving increased demand in the Chinese tree nut market.
