Coffee production in marketing year (MY) 2020/2021 experienced a 15 percent drop compared to the previous year.

On Thursday, May 20, 2021 the government of Argentina imposed a 30-day ban on beef exports. The measure is intended to lower domestic beef prices by temporarily increasing the domestic supply.

Coffee production for marketing year (MY) 2021/22 (April to March) is forecast at 261,000 60-kilogram (kg) bags of Green Bean Equivalent (GBE) basis, an increase of two percent over the MY 2020/2021 estimate of 255,000 60-kg bags.

Peru's coffee production and exports are expected to increase in the 2021/22 marketing year.
