Brazil: Sugar Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Brazil’s MY 2017/18 sugarcane crush is estimated at 645 mmt, a one percent decrease compared to the previous season due to irregular weather conditions in some growing areas and aging of sugarcane fields. Approximately 48 percent of the crop should be diverted to sugar, due to the expected deficit on the world market. Total exports are projected to increase by five percent reaching 29.07 mmt, raw value.
