Data and Analysis

The Czech Republic maintains a scientific approach to agricultural biotechnology, with no significant legislative changes in 2025. A key development is the establishment of the Interministerial Council for Genetics and Genomics (ICGG) to create and coordinate national strategy for genetics and genomics across sectors.
On October 2, 2025, the UK government launched a consultation on a proposal to implement a ban on bisphenol A, other bisphenols, and bisphenol derivatives in food contact materials.
The European Union (EU) now offers larger import quotas for agricultural products from Ukraine. The increased quotas are linked to Ukraine opening its own market for the EU’s agricultural exports, as well as gradually aligning with EU production standards, including animal welfare, plant protection, and environmental norms.
