Ukraine: Updated MRLs for Chlorpyrifos and Chlorpyrifos-Methyl by Ukraine

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   UP2021-0034

On January 1, 2022, Ukraine will implement new Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) for chlorpyrifos and chlorpyrifos-methyl in agricultural and food products at the level of 0.01 milligrams per kilogram (mg/kg) or milligrams per liter (mg/l) depending on whether the product is solid or liquid. Per the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Final Rule: Chlorpyrifos; Tolerance Revocations, the U.S. tolerances for these chemicals for all commodities will expire on February 28, 2022. Therefore, any trade impact of Ukraine’s MRL reduction will be short-lived.
