Ukraine: Agricultural Biotechnology Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

The biotechnology regulatory system in Ukraine is still not fully developed, but the country has committed to shape its policy in-line with European Union standards. Recently, regulatory steps were taken to enable a system for the registration of genetically engineered feed and veterinary drugs. Political debate over agricultural biotechnology is active in the country. Currently, there are no GE approved product registrations and therefore no GE products can legally be imported into Ukraine.
