Turkey: Update on Turkey's Export Ban on Select Ag Products

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   TU2022-0026

This report provides an update on Turkey’s export ban on select agricultural products to stabilize local market conditions and keep food prices from running higher. Since March, the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry (MinAF) has stopped exports of cooking oil, bulk olive oil, margarine, red lentils, dry beans, and butter from Turkey. MinAF may block exports of other agricultural products at any time. Meantime, the Ministry of Trade’s export ban on certain agricultural items from bonded warehouses was lifted in early March, just a few days after it was imposed.
