Turkey: FAIRS Annual Country Report

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   TU2023-0017

This report outlines specific requirements for importing food and agricultural products into Turkey and should be read in conjunction with the FAIRS Export Certificate report. While there were no major legislative or regulatory changes within the last year, there were some noteworthy developments, among which was the Ministry of Agriculture & Forestry’s decision to reinstate its requirement for original copies of health certificates/certificates of free sale, effective August 2022. The Ministry had previously relaxed this requirement during the pandemic. Another notable change restricted the use of small alcohol containers and required all alcohol (except beer) to be marketed in glass containers.
