Agriculture and food production in Serbia is the most important export sector, accounting for over 10 percent of the country’s GDP and around 20 percent of all exports. The Serbian market offers good opportunities for U.S. exporters of consumer-oriented agriculture products. In the period JanuaryOctober 2019, total U.S. exports of agriculture products to Serbia reached $20.4 million, nearly the same as last year. The largest segments were almonds, snack food, prepared meals, sunflower seeds, vegetable planting seeds, dietetic foods and concentrated proteins without dairy fats, alcoholic drinks, frozen fish and seafood, and snacks and fruits. This report provides U.S. food and agriculture exporters with background information and suggestions for entering the Serbian market. It was updated in December 2019.
