ATO Taipei, in partnership with twelve Taiwan craft beer breweries, delivered a successful craft beer festival that promoted ten U.S. ingredients through new-to-market, limited-edition craft beers.
With the easing of Zero-COVID restrictions, China-based trade shows expect considerable international interest. This report includes a list of food, agriculture, fish and forestry shows throughout China in 2023.
This year ATO Osaka organized various promotional activities across western Japan, utilizing print, television, and radio media to reach 15 million consumers (excluding social media). ATO Osaka partnered with local foodservice establishments to promote U.S. beef, pork, cheese, peppers, fruits, nuts, and other ingredients via special menu promotions.
This year ATO Osaka organized USA pavilions at three trade shows in Japan. In July, the ATO exhibited for the first time at FOODEX Kansai, the western Japan version of the USDA-endorsed show held in Tokyo every March. In August, the ATO returned to the Japan International Seafood Show for the first time in three years.
The “Discover U.S. Baking Ingredients and Trends” hybrid virtual promotion was ATO Beijing’s first baking ingredients activity since the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020. The purposes of this activity were to raise bakers’ awareness of the nutrition, health benefits, taste, and versatility of U.S. baking ingredients and to increase exports to China.
From September 6-8, 2022, the Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) in Hong Kong hosted the strongest national pavilion at Restaurant and Bar, one of the largest food trade shows in Hong Kong. Seven U.S. exhibitors showcased their quality products to over 8,000 trade visitors.
From September 5-8, 2022, the Foreign Agricultural Service in New Delhi (FAS India) participated in the Food and Hotel Asia – Food & Beverage 2022 Expo (FHA 2022) in Singapore, South Asia's largest international food trade show.
On August 3-5, 2022, the World Apple and Pear Association (WAPA) presented the 2022 EU apple and pear crop forecast at the 47th edition of the Prognosfruit convention. WAPA forecasts the 2022 EU fresh apples crop at 12.2 million metric tons (MT), 1.3 percent above the 2021 harvest and nine percent higher than the average of the preceding three years.
The successful physical U.S. pavilion at Thaifex Anuga Asia 2022 featured a variety of U.S. food and beverages products and partnered with nine U.S. cooperators and one state department of agriculture as well as 16 importers. Thaifex Anuga Asia was well attended this year with over 51,000 visitors.
The Fork and the Road program is designed to introduce and educate consumers in the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman (known as the GCC 4) about the variety and diversity of regional American foods and food culture.
Anufood Brazil 2022 was one of the first in-person food and beverage shows in Sao Paulo since the COVID-19 pandemic. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) endorsed the show and provided excellent opportunities for U.S. exporters. USDA is endorsing the show again next year.
From February 13-17, 2022, FAS New Delhi and Mumbai representatives participated in a trade mission to Gulfood 2022, the world’s largest food and beverage trade show held annually in Dubai.
