Philippines: Retail Foods Annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   RP2025-0042
The Philippines is the top market for U.S. consumer-oriented exports in Southeast Asia and ranks ninth globally, with exports totaling $1.3 billion in 2024. Driven by rising disposable incomes, urbanization, and a strong preference for U.S. food and beverage products, the country offers significant growth opportunities. Although traditional retailers form the majority of the market, the modern retail sector—including supermarkets, hypermarkets, and convenience stores—provides a robust distribution network, further enhanced by the expanding reach of e-commerce platforms. Key U.S. exports include pork, poultry, beef, canned soups and vegetables, snacks, frozen meals, milk, cheeses, ice cream, frozen fries, instant coffee, condiments, sauces, seasonings, chocolate, candies, apples, cherries, strawberries, tree nuts, wines, and pet food.
