Philippines: Philippines Suspends Implementation of B4 and B5 Mandates
On July 17, 2025, the Department of Energy (DOE) issued DOE Advisory No. 2025-07-001 announcing the suspension of the 4 and 5 percent biodiesel blend (B4) mandates respectively scheduled for October 1, 2025, and October 1, 2026. The decision addresses to the National Biofuels Board (NBB) concerns regarding the anticipated significant increase in biodiesel pump prices and its potential inflationary impact to the Philippine economy.
