Peru: Asparagus Exports Down for the First Time

Peru’s exports of fresh asparagus in 2020 were down 10 percent due to COVID-19 and internal transportation issues. Exports are forecast to rebound to 138,000 metric tons in 2021. The United States continues to be the principal market for Peruvian asparagus exports, accounting for 75 percent of total fresh asparagus exports in 2020.
