Lithuania: Fast Development of Poultry Meat Production in Lithuania

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Lithuania is the largest poultry meat producer among the Baltic States. In 2015 production of poultry meat amounted to 110,700 MT and was 11 percent higher than in 2014. It is expected that production will continue to grow in 2016 and 2017 because of favorable feed prices, continuing domestic demand and growing exports. In 2015 egg production in Lithuania amounted to 786 million pieces, two percent less than in the previous year.
