Rice production in Guyana continues to trend upward bolstered by innovation, technology transfer, agricultural extension and greater market demand from trade. Venezuela is no longer a major destination for Guyanese rice under the Petrocaribe agreement. The Government of Guyana (GOG) has filled that void with ambitious trade negotiations boosting export opportunities throughout the region.
