Ecuador: Ecuador Imposes Import Ban on U.S. Poultry Products

On April 16, 2015, Ecuador’s AGROCALIDAD suspended imports of U.S.-origin live fowl, poultry meat and poultry products and eggs/egg products in response to APHIS reports of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza (HPAI) in the States of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Minnesota, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Iowa, and Montana. During 2014, Ecuador imported from the United States $6 million in live fowl (over 850,000 baby chicks), poultry meat and poultry products, as well as eggs and products.
