Colombia: Colombia Issues Phytosanitary Import Requirements for U.S. Paddy Rice

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

On August 8, 2017, the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) sent an official letter to the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) informing the phytosanitary requirements for imported paddy rice coming from the United States. This is the final step for removing restrictions on U.S. paddy rice that limited exports to the port of Barranquilla, and means that U.S. paddy rice exporters will have greater flexibility when choosing a Colombian port of destination.
