The People’s Republic of China (PRC) National Energy Administration (NEA) announced 22 pilot projects on March 29, 2024, for the promotion and application of biomass-based diesel (BBD). Industry sources see these projects as a way to develop the BBD industry following an EU anti-dumping investigation that began in December 2023. Approved projects were from sub-national governments and state-owned enterprises.
