China: National Food Safety Standards for Public Comment Draft Released

On February 13, 2023, the National Health Commission (NHC) published an announcement to collect public comments from domestic stakeholders on the formulation or revision of 38 national food safety standards, including one standard for contaminants, two standards for food products, seven standards for nutritional and special dietary foods, one production and operational standard, two standards for food additives, two standards for food related products, eighteen standards for physical and chemical testing methods and procedures, and five standards for microbiological testing methods and procedures. This report provides an unofficial translation of the list of standards that are open for public domestic comment by March 20, 2023. The revisions and newly formulated standards have not been notified to the World Trade Organization.
