Canada: Health Canada Consults on Front-of-Package Nutrition Labeling

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Health Canada opened consultations for comments on proposed changes to front-of-package nutrition labeling. Food companies will have to change food labels to include the front-of-package symbols meant to emphasize that those products have a lower content in nutrients of health concern, like sugars, sodium and saturated fat. Comments by stakeholders are due by January 13, 2017.
