Canada: Canada Proposes Revocation of Chlorothalonil MRLs

Following a special review decision of chlorothalonil, Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has proposed to cancel the use of chlorothalonil on food crops and other outdoor uses as well as the revocation of al chlorothalonil maximum residue limits (MRLs). The PMRA has opened a consultation on this proposed decision and will be accepting comments until May 11, 2022. A 2018 re-evaluation of chlorothalonil by PMRA had previously resulted in retention of most uses of the product.
