With nearly 80 percent of tourists originating from the United States coupled with its close proximity to the U.S. telecommunications umbrella, The Bahamas is a prime market for U.S. food and agricultural products, catering to tourists and consumers alike. In 2017, the United States exported a record $230 million in consumer-oriented food products to The Bahamas, making it the top market in the CBATO region.
