USDA today hosted a high-level Food Security Dialogue with the Philippines Department of Agriculture that showcased critical bilateral efforts to address global food security and climate change.
USDA will invest $178 million in seven international development projects on four continents to support U.S. government priorities including promoting climate-smart agriculture, facilitating trade and addressing the root causes of migration in Central America.
A number of the Philippines’ top agricultural leaders share a common bond: They are alumni of USDA’s Cochran Fellowship Program. They came together during the FAS trade mission in Manila last month to discuss how their fellowships have shaped their careers and the future agriculture in the Phillipines.
