Vietnam: Grain and Feed Update

For marketing year (MY) 2018/2019, Post revised total paddy production down compared to the USDA official number, from 44.68 million metric tons (MMT) to 44.43 MMT, or from 27.92 MMT to 27.77 MMT of milled rice, due to lower harvested area of the Autumn crop. Post forecasts that this drop in harvested area will continue into MY19/20. The export forecast for MY18/19 remains unchanged from the previous year, with decreasing demand from China and Indonesia being offset by increased demand from the Philippines and other countries.
