Thailand: Thailand Bans the Use of Partially Hydrogenated Oils in Foods

On July 13, 2018, The Ministry of Public Health Notification No. 388 Re: Prescribed Prohibited Food to be Produced, Imported, or Sold, which bans partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs), and food products containing PHOs, was published in the Royal Gazette. The Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) aims to ban PHOs in food, yet has not further promulgated any new regulations on trans fats.
