South Korea: Grain and Feed Update
As actual rice planting area was less than FAS/Seoul had estimated in the last report, the rice production forecast for MY 2018/19 is revised down to 3.73 million metric tons (MMT). Ending stocks are also revised down to 0.834 MMT to reflect the decline in production. Consumption estimates remain unchanged at 4.47 MMT. Korea successfully donated 50,000 MT of rice through the Food Assistance Convention in spring of 2018.
