The Covid-19 pandemic is negatively impacting the Argentine biofuels sector in 2020 as long-term lockdown provisions continue to restrict the full range of personal and commercial activities.
For CY 2017, production of fresh apples and pears is revised down to 530,000 MT and 500,000 MT, respectively, and table grape production will remain unchanged at 40,000 MT.
Argentine sugar production for 2017/18 is forecast at 1.9 million tons (raw basis), a decline of six percent over the previous season.
