This report provides information on the export certification requirements of the Government of Costa Rica.
Costa has a well-developed tourist sector and is ranked as one of the most visited international destinations.
Costa Rica is an attractive market for U.S. exports. Costa Rica consumers are highly receptive to U.S. food brands, trends and retailers, making the country ripe for export potential.
Costa Rica’ production of oranges declined to 5.4 million boxes (40.824 kg.) during 2014/2015. The crop was probably the worst on record in recent history, according to industry sources.
Since 2010, Costa Rica has joined the craft beer trend with increased imports of craft and specialty beers as well as local microbreweries producing unique brands such as "Segua" and "Libertas".
FAS Costa Rica participated in the National Wine Expo Show on October 7-9, 2015. More than 80 wine distributors distributed wines and complementary products from around the world.
