The shortage of disinfectants, caused by the Covid 19 (“Coronavirus”) crisis, triggered the use of AGRANA’s bioethanol for surface and hand disinfectants.
This report replaces the previous Peru Biofuels Annual report dated November 2, 2016. During 2017, ethanol production is forecast at 112 million liters, up slightly from 2016.
Export prices were steady over the past week. The Ministry of Energy is considering conducting a feasibility study on the use of non-food grade rice stocks for ethanol production.
Post maintained its 2016/17 production forecast at 101 million metric tons (mmt) due to a larger planted area and higher yields compared to last year.
