Total EU oilseeds area and production in MY 2018/19 is forecast slightly upward due to increasing acreage of all three major oilseeds (rapeseed, soybean and sunflower).
It is estimated that rapeseed planted area in MY 2017/2018 will increase to 160,000 hectares, and will be four percent higher than in the previous year.
Total EU-28 oilseeds production for marketing year (MY) 2015/16 is expected to decline by about 9 percent to 32 million metric tons (MMT).
2016/17 Paraguayan soybean area is forecast to grow marginally to 3.33 million hectares, an increase of 1 percent.
It is estimated that after reduction in MY 2015/2016, rapeseed planted area in MY 2016/2017 will increase to 200,000 hectares, and will be 20 percent higher than in the previous year.
Total EU-28 oilseeds production for marketing year (MY) 2015/16 is expected to decline by about 9 percent to 32 million metric tons (MMT).
2015/16 Paraguayan soybean area is forecast at 3.6 million hectares, a nine percent increase in soybean area compared with 2014/15 estimates, based on expanded area for second crop soybeans.
