In terms of total volume, Mexico´s marketing year (MY) 2024/25 total deciduous fruit production is forecast nearly unchanged, with a small decline in pear production mostly offset by minor growth in apple and table grape production.

Grape production in Peru is forecast to reach 790,000 metric tons (MT) in marketing year (MY) 2024/2025, an increase of two percent compared to the previous year. The expected increase is due to improved climatic conditions in northern coastal regions which represents 48 percent of the total production area.

In July 2024, USDA published the final notice allowing certain table grapes to be safely imported by the United States from parts of Chile. The new requirements will allow table grapes from areas of Chile where European grapevine moth is either absent or at a low prevalence and will also protect U.S. agriculture from Chilean false red mite.
