Saudi Arabia: Exporter Guide

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   SA2023-0014
Saudi Arabia was the 22nd largest market ($1.58 billion) for U.S. food and agricultural products in 2022, an increase of 18 percent compared to 2021. There are plenty of opportunities for a wide range of new-to-market U.S. food products; especially, healthier products aimed at a generation with more disposable income. Unfortunately, there are also significant impediments to trade including burdensome export facility registration requirements along with numerous halal related restrictions on meat and poultry. Despite these issues, U.S. food products are well-positioned to meet Saudi Arabia’s changing dietary habits and food security needs over the next several years.
