The turnover of the Dutch foodservice market in 2018 was valued at USD 23.7 billion, up by almost 6 percent. While sales in all subcategories were up, sales in the delivery subcategory, especially for hot meals, saw a double-digit growth rate of 13 percent. In addition, Dutch consumers want food products that are healthy, authentic and tasty. Foodservice chains from the United States are, and continue to be, successful on the Dutch market because they have been able to respond to changing consumer needs; more U.S. chains are now opening outlets in the Netherlands.
