Morocco: Citrus Semi-annual

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Following the 2018 annual report, Morocco experienced record citrus production this season in some regions. Berkane, in eastern Morocco, saw a 25 percent increase and Beni Mellal, in central Morocco, reported an 18 percent increase. The increase in production in the MY2018–19 brought marketing challenges. Due to a lack of sufficient and modern packinghouses and cold-storage facilities, many farmers had to dump their product onto the market.
