Jordan: Food and Agricultural Import Regulations and Standards Country Report

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)   |   JO2022-0004

This report outlines Jordan’s regulatory requirements for food and agricultural product imports. Jordan occasionally bans imports of specific products due to sanitary-phytosanitary (SPS) concerns. Agriculture Law 13 (2015) stipulates that the import of raw, unprocessed food items is subject to the Ministry of Agriculture granting import license approval. Regulators also at times use technical barriers to trade to protect domestic interests.
