Japan: Japan Solicits Input to Food Packaging Materials Regulation

Japan is entering the final phase of collecting information on substances, specifically synthetic resins, used in food packaging to develop a positive list of approved substances. Parties interested in submitting substances for inclusion in the list should comment on Japan's notification to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The enclosed information is provided by Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) as advance notice to foreign industry members of the substances in the current provisional list of packaging materials.
