Japan: Japan Expands CSF Vaccination Area to 20 Prefectures

The Government of Japan (GOJ) announced that it will expand the areas eligible to vaccinate healthy hogs against Classical Swine Fever (CSF) from 12 to 20 prefectures as the country seeks to stop the spread of CSF which began in September 2018. As of December 26, 2019, approximately 152,000 head have been culled, representing around one percent of Japan’s annual hog production.
