Japan: Japan Begins CSF Vaccinations of Healthy Hogs

On October 25, Japan initiated vaccinations of healthy hogs to combat the spread of Classical Swine Fever (CSF), the first such vaccinations since 2006. As of October 27, seven prefectures had started to vaccinate. CSF was detected in Japan in September 2018 and has since spread to nine prefectures, resulting in approximately 147,000 hogs being culled.
