On September 28, 2018, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a notification extending the quantitative restrictions (QRs) on imports of all peas by another three months until December 31, 2018. As a result of the QR and the November 2017 tariff increase on peas, U.S. pulse exports to India totaled only US $6 million during first seven month of calendar year (CY) 2018, compared to US$31 million during the same period in CY 2017.
