Hong Kong: FAIRS Country Report

  |   Attaché Report (GAIN)

Hong Kong enacted the Food Adulteration (Metallic Contamination) (Amendment) Regulation 2018. The Amendment Regulation took effect November 1, 2019 for fresh and perishable products, while all other food products will be required to comply with the amended regulation by November 1, 2020. Other parts of the report remain the same as the 2018 FAIRS report, except that the sections on “Proposed Regulations on Claims on Formula Products” and “Consultation on Regulatory Control on Edible Fats and Oils” were deleted because these two topics are no longer on the Hong Kong government’s immediate agenda.
