This report details the steps which US exporters must navigate in order to successfully place their product in the Dominican market. It includes information on product and trademark registration, labeling, packaging, pre-authorization of import, and customs clearance. In addition to describing each step, this report describes normal practices in terms of who normally takes responsibility for these procedures and the delays and costs involved in each. In addition, this report identified the underlying legal framework governing importation of food and agricultural items.
