Colombia: U.S. Paddy Rice Achieves Greater Access to Colombia

On June 6, 2017 the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) published “Official Resolution # 6705 of 2017” which removes ICA’s “Official Resolution # 3196 of 2012” that established the phytosanitary measures for the transportation of imported paddy rice coming from the United States and limited its access to only the port of Barranquilla. Reducing Colombia’s restrictions will make U.S. rough rice more competitive in the Colombian market.
