Canada: tasteU.S. Pantry Shop makes a Splash at Consumer Show in Canada

The Foreign Agricultural Service’s FY 2016 tasteU.S. GBI’s program, launched its first tasting laboratory at this year’s National Women’s Show, November 4 -6, 2016 in downtown Toronto.This consumer event has grown to attract over 22,000 visitors each year in the last 15 years, providing an excellent venue for candid consumer feedback to assist U.S. companies’ further increase sales and penetration in the Canadian market. In summary, over 7,000 product responses were collected, averaging over 400 per product with an impressive 85% of respondents more likely to check for U.S. origin when buying fresh and packaged foods. Canada prominently ranks as the top market for U.S. high-value products (HVP) with a value of over $18 billion annually and accounting for over one-quarter of all U.S. HVP exports globally.
